In current versions of MuseScore, the Style dialog has moved to the Format menu, and the settings for measure numbers have moved to their own page (no longer combined with header and footer). Formatting of measure numbers, like other text, can now be customized via the Inspector, and there is an option to center them or place them below the staff. There is also a new Timeline facility (see View menu) that can be used to jump to specific measures.
