What's New in MuseScore 3.1-3.6

Each release of MuseScore since 3.0 has added new features or refined existing ones. As things change, the relevant lessons are updated, and as of this writing (April 2021) the course is up to date for 3.6.   • Palette redesign with simplified customization and keyboard navigation

  • Note input workflow improvements

MuseScore 3.4

Major changes:

  • Usability improvements (single click for palette and editing lines)
  • Most remaining properties dialogs eliminated in favor of the Inspector

MuseScore 3.5

Major changes:

  • Chord symbol playback
  • Ability to automatically align chord symbols
  • Instrument change improvements
  • Simplified editing of lines
  • Ability to select similar elements in a range with click/shift+click
  • Improved piano roll editor
  • Smooth scrolling option during playback in continuous view

MuseScore 3.6

Major changes:

  • New default fonts for notation (Leland) and text (Edwin)
  • Automatic ordering and bracketing of instruments
  • Automatic indentation of first system
  • Automatic vertical justification of staves
  • Improved file export facility
