New live episodes of the MuseScore Café and Music Master Class to tell you about!

This week in the MuseScore Café, we will continue our series of looking at different instrument families by focusing on the strings. From solo violin to string quartet to orchestra, we'll talk about some of the things to know about these instruments and the different techniques you can use for working with them in MuseScore.

Last week was the debut of the new Music Master Class, and I'd like to thank everyone who participated. For those who missed it, we spent quite a while looking at a fantastic submission by James Bartlett - a choral piece in a sacred Renaissance style. We discussed the use of form, cadences, modes, counterpoint, and more. You can check out the archived video here. I imagine that for many of you this was an entirely new experience! James set the bar very high with an incredibly well-written piece, but I want to emphasize that I'll be looking at all kinds of music in this class - different genres, different types of instrumentation, and different experience levels. So please continue to submit your music by first enrolling in the Music Master Class on my site and then upload your music as described there.

The MuseScore Café is live on Wednesday at 12:30 PM Eastern (17:30 GMT), and the Music Master Class is live the same time on Thursday. You can check out the archived video later on my YouTube channel.
